Yes. You can book your appointment via our website or just simply call the Boutique. Booking an appointment allows you time to research what you want from your gown, make sure your guests can join you and see what Shades can offer you. We do not charge for our appointments.

When you are ready; to fall in love and purchase your Wedding Dress we will be here for you. As a guide we recommended that 18 months to 12 months prior to your Wedding Date is a good time to start. We have brides who have purchase their Wedding Dresses 2 years prior to their Wedding and Brides who have purchased their Wedding Dress 6 months before.
Allowing 12-18 months takes away any pressure and allows you to make clear decisions.

Our current collection gowns range from around £1,200 to £2,500.
We have an amazing Off the Peg selection of gowns priced from £350 - £900, these are all displayed on our website.

Our sizes range from UK8 – UK 28, with our average sample gown being a UK14-16. All our gown sizes are clearly displayed on our website.
Shades of White has been helping brides find their dream gowns for over 10years, we believe that we have built a collection that everyone will love. Bridal Gown sizes differ greatly from the high street, so do not be put off if bridal gown size is totally different to your normal size – it’s just a number in your Wedding Dress.

We would love for you to avoid fake tan, heavy makeup, and lipstick at your appointments. These can all transfer onto our gowns and does not come out.

Nude underwear is a great, but not always necessary. Most of our gowns have inbuilt bust cups and corsetry, so a bra is not needed, and in most cases, we encourage you to remove your bra. If you have a pair of shoes similar in height to your Wedding Shoes, please feel free to bring these along too.

Shades has 2 beautiful spacious bridal lounges, with enough space for you to comfortably invite 4 loved ones to join you in your Wedding Dress Journey.

Being parents and grandparents ourselves we love children, but we also know how great it is to spend a little ‘me’ time too. Ivory Gowns, sharp pins and big decisions never really sit well with children, so we kindly ask where possible that you refrain from bringing children. We have a no pram policy in our Bridal Lounges.

Your Bridal Appointment will last up to 2 hours, don’t worry about bringing refreshments with you as these will be offered throughout.

At your appointment you and your guests will be shown into your private Bridal Lounge. Your bridal consultant will take you through our entire collection of Bridal Gowns and learn more about you and you’re Wedding. Together we will make your initial selection of gowns and then we will have fun finding your perfect gown. Once we have a better understanding of what you like and don’t like from a wedding Dress, we will introduce some more gowns that we think will work for you. All Wedding Dress look totally different on the hanger and on screen so we would advise you to be open minded and let us guide you.

When, you are sure. For some brides they know instantly, and others need a moment for their head to catch up with their heart. Once you have made the decision to ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ we require a 50% deposit, the remaining balance is due within 2 weeks of your Wedding Dress arriving at Shades.

Our Gowns are made to order not to measure. Measurements are taken to ascertain a standard size for you to order. Your Wedding Dress will require alterations to make it a perfect fit to your body.

Your alteration fitting appointments will start 10 weeks before your Wedding Date. Your alterations are a separate charge from your Wedding Dress. You are under no obligations to use our seamstress service and are free to have your Wedding Dress altered anywhere you choose.

Your Wedding Dress will arrive at Shades approximately 7 months after your order has been placed.

We can of course store your Wedding Dress at Shades of White, there is a small monthly fee for this. This will all be explained at point of order.
